Effects of loading regimes on the structural behavior of RC beam-column sub-assemblages against disproportionate collapse

The majority of previous quasi-static tests on disproportionate collapse simulated the column removal through applying concentrated load/displacement top removed until failure. However, uniformly distributed service load always exists frames. Therefore, to reflect actual condition more accurately, should be applied along beams first. Then, temporary support is gradually simulate process removal. By this way, may undergo only a small deflection as dynamic effect neglected. Thus, subsequent loading employed evaluate behavior at ultimate stage, which reached if considered. Such named sequential regime. To effects regimes reinforced concrete (RC) frames under middle scenario, two series half-scale RC beam-column sub-assemblages were tested in study. It found that conventional regime could accurately estimate yield strength and compressive arch action capacity sub-assemblages, but it over-estimate catenary (CA) deformation capacity. Moreover, although convenient able demonstrate transfer mechanisms against collapse, mistakenly identify locations critical sections. Furthermore, based failure modes local strain gauge results, analytical models proposed for predicting CA specimens regimes. Results suggest predict well.
